The dark history of the Inquisition suggests that the great thinkers of this era, despite the fact that they themselves found themselves helpless in the face of its fanaticism and even its victims, nevertheless gave rise in thousands of others to the spirit of a universal struggle for the enlightenment of humanity.
Today, science and philosophy must maintain an optimal balance between searching for answers to the remaining ultimate questions about the Universe and enlightening existing knowledge, because the accumulated knowledge is quite sufficient to form a rational and productive worldview, and society as a whole is not aware of what valuable knowledge has already been accumulated.
Modern enlighteners, especially those illuminating ethics and personality psychology, must not only qualitatively and accessibly present the essence of a "full-fledged life" but also, by inspiring, motivate towards it.
